The Supervisory Code Of Ethics

The Supervisory Code Of Ethics

The aim of this Supervisory Code of Ethics is to set and uphold a high standard for supervisors. The aim of Texas LPC Code of Ethics is to educate and protect supervisees (counselors and psychologists who are under supervision).

Integrity, duty, honesty, and secrecy are also examples of ethical principles.

Responsibility Issues

Since the primary goal of oversight is to guarantee that, the leader is meeting the Client’s needs:

  • Supervisees are productive with the company, as well as for presenting and discussing the work with their boss as frankly as practicable.
  • Supervisors are in charge of assisting supervisees in objectively evaluating their jobs.
  • All supervisors and superiors are responsible for establishing clear boundaries among working relationships with friends and other relationships, as well as making evident the distinctions between supervision, consulting, counseling, and training.

If there is a dual relationship, supervisors and superiors must differentiate between overseeing and counseling the supervisee.

The values contained in Texas LPC Code of Ethics, are the responsibility of supervisors.

Students’ Supervision

  • When dealing with Pupil Counsellors/Therapists, managers must be certain that the training contract involves a client job appraisal. Clients, the discipline, and those accountable for the supervisee’s training all benefit from such evaluations.
  • The requirements for making evaluations must be decided upon by supervisees and the training provider or other agencies responsible for Student Counseling accreditation.
  • All relevant supervisors must submit reports on coursework to the learning institutes or technical association’s assessment panel, and these documents must be co-evaluated by the participant and the instructor.
  • Procedures for dealing with possible conflicts of interest should be straightforward and discussed with the student ahead of time.
  • Supervisors must be attentive to any student’s personal or academic problems. In certain circumstances, a referral to a different supervisor might be necessary.

Code of Conduct

  • The aim of Texas LPC Code of Ethics is to train the play therapist according to APT guidelines.
  • The Work of Supervision Management
  • Supervisors must make sure that their subordinates sign the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and follow it.
  • To explain requirements, a formal monitoring contract is recommended, which should provide the format for clinical posting, a method of assessment, bookkeeping, and applicable periods.
  • Managers should be specific about the higher solution for supervision, including the frequency and duration of contact hours, as well as the location’s privacy and protection.
  • Appropriate fees should be decided upon in advance, and any fee increases should be discussed.
  • All supervisors and supervisees should be transparent about their objectives and specifications of one another. This should include how the formal evaluation of the supervisee’s work would be carried out. Each party should evaluate the importance of collaborating with the other on a regular basis.
  • Supervisors should make sure their subordinates are aware of their credentials, methodological foundation, and working process.
  • Supervisors are required to maintain supervisor and supervisee assessment reports in compliance with territorial and legal obligations; these records must be maintained as part of the supervisor’s medical notes.
  • Supervisors should allow leaders to keep track of their company and monitoring hours and maintain an up-to-date log for their documents.
