The aim of this Supervisory Code of Ethics is to set and uphold a high standard for supervisors. The aim of Texas LPC Code of Ethics is to educate and protect supervisees (counselors and psychologists who are under supervision).

Integrity, duty, honesty, and secrecy are also examples of ethical principles.

Responsibility Issues

Since the primary goal of oversight is to guarantee that, the leader is meeting the Client’s needs:

  • Supervisees are productive with the company, as well as for presenting and discussing the work with their boss as frankly as practicable.
  • Supervisors are in charge of assisting supervisees in objectively evaluating their jobs.
  • All supervisors and superiors are responsible for establishing clear boundaries among working relationships with friends and other relationships, as well as making evident the distinctions between supervision, consulting, counseling, and training.

If there is a dual relationship, supervisors and superiors must differentiate between overseeing and counseling the supervisee.

Students’ Supervision

  • All relevant supervisors must submit reports on coursework to the learning institutes or technical association’s assessment panel, and these documents must be co-evaluated by the participant and the instructor.
  • Procedures for dealing with possible conflicts of interest should be straightforward and discussed with the student ahead of time.
  • Supervisors must be attentive to any student’s personal or academic problems. In certain circumstances, a referral to a different supervisor might be necessary.
